Polkadot Stingray is a Japanese rock band hailing from Fukuoka, Japan, consisting of Shizuku, Harushi Ejima, Yuki Uemura, and Kazuma Mitsuyasu. The band was founded in 2014, and their first single, "Yoake no Orange," was released the following year. Since then, they have gained widespread popularity in Japan and internationally, signing under Universal Sigma, and releasing several successful albums, extended plays, and singles. Their music is characterized by the dynamic interplay of guitars, driving rhythms, and Shizuku's distinctive vocals.

2014–2016: The Indie era, Honenuki EP
Polkadot Stingray was founded in April 2014 by vocalist & guitarist Shizuku, guitarist Muro, and drummer Kazuma Mitsuyasu later scouted Yuki Uemura as their bassist. The band's first single, "Yoake no Orange" (夜明けのオレンジ), was released on April 29, 2015, but before their second single, "Gokusai" (極彩), was released, Muro left the band, and Harushi Ejima was scouted as the band's new guitarist.
On March 4, 2016, their first nationwide release, "Telecaster Stripe" (テレキャスター・ストライプ), is a digital single that, by September, gained 1 million likes!

Polkadot Stingray (ポルカドットスティングレイ, Porukadotto Sutingurei, stylized as POLKADOT STINGRAY) is a Japanese rock band from Fukuoka, Japan. The band's signed under Universal Sigma, and the members consist of Shizuku (guitar and vocals), Harushi Ejima (guitar), Yuki Uemura (bass), and Kazuma Mitsuyasu (drums).

"In April 2017, Polkadot Stingray released their first major-label extended play, Dai-Seigi (大正義)

Due to Uemura injuring his arm, Dai-Seigi (大正義,,) the extended play, was recorded with Hiromi Hirohiro from Tricot and Igarashi from Hitorie on bass.
Polkadot Stingray went on its first nationwide tour in July 2017, stopping at six cities. When they released their first studio album, Zenchizennō (全知全能), in November 2017, they embarked on their second nationwide tour To promote the album in 2018.
Polkadot Stingray announced In February 2018 that they were releasing the extended play Ichidaiji (一大事) in May, with its leading track, "Ichidaiji", a the theme song to the live-action film adaptation of "Missions of Love."

In September 2018, Polkadot Stingray announced that the song "Himitsu" (ヒミツ) will be the theme song for the film 'Smartphone wo Otoshita Dake nano ni."

Polkadot Stingray also performed the ending themes to the anime series Radiant with the song "Radiant." as well as the ending theme to the anime Godzilla Singular Point with the song "Aoi" (青い, Blue).
